Reigning Play-Off winners Sevenoaks Suns make consecutive Finals

WBBL Play-Offs Semi-Final
Sevenoaks Suns 73-48 Nottingham Wildcats (17-19,33-32,55-37)

Some 12 months after they conquered The 02 at the 2017 edition of the WBBL Play-Off Final, Sevenoaks Suns are heading back to the capital in pursuit of a silverware double.

After taking down last year’s Final opponents Nottingham, this time around they will get to defend their cherished title against arch rivals, Leicester Riders in what looks to be a mouth-watering match-up.

Leading scorers – Carr 23, Pressley 15, Fritz 12 (Suns), Lovett 13, Da Silva 8, Doran 7 (Wildcats)

Turning point – Suns were simply unstoppable when they emerged from the locker room and blasted a hole in the hopes of Wildcats by racking up an eye-popping 22-5 third period to take control.

Key stat – When your top scorer has 13 points and nobody else hits double-figures. Yes, a tough finish to the season for Wildcats, so at least they have a WBBL Cup to console themselves with.

Game heroes – Cat Carr was MVP of the 2017 Final and will be one of the leading candidates to take that gong again after putting her side through with 23 points. Meanwhile Chantelle Pressely contributed a superb double-double of 15 points and 12 rebounds.
