All Star Five – Week 12

Our first line-up of 2020 sees a debutante and two of our season leaders in terms of most appearances so far.

Nicolette Fong Lyew Quee – Durham Palatinates
The first member of this week’s five is the Durham guard who is our aforementioned debutante and the main driving force behind a landmark result. She guided Palatinates to a super comeback victory in their WBBL Cup Semi-Final against Hatters with a brilliant 24 points.

Renee Busch – Sevenoaks Suns
Safely into the Cup Final against Durham with their win in the last four against Eagles, it was Busch who helped Sevenoaks solidify their title bid 24 hours later. She was at the heart of Sunday’s league win against Wolves with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists.

Mante Kvederaviciute – Newcastle Eagles
Disappointed from missing out on a maiden WBBL Cup Final appearance, the Eagles can at least take comfort from continuing to shine in the WBBL Championship. Kvederaviciute was terrific against Caledonia with an all-action haul of 17 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals.

Jasmine Joyner – Nottingham Wildcats
After a stunning eight consecutive appearances to start off the season, Joyner had the pause button pressed on her exploits as Wildcats suffered some losses. But, our season leader is back after taking down Lions with a typically impressive 16 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 blocks.

Kate Oliver – Leicester Riders
She ended 2019 with our Player of the Week accolade and the new calendar year sees the classy Australian centre doing it again! She was immense as Riders beat Pride in Edinburgh off the back of her dominance in the paint, which returned 18 points, 13 boards, 4 blocks and 63% shooting.

Off the Bench -Luiana Livulo (FLT Peterman Sheffield Hatters), Cierra Ceazer (Durham Palatinates), Ella Clark (Leicester Riders), Hannah Robb (Caledonia Pride), Lisa Koop (Newcastle Eagles), Betsy MacDonald (Durham Palatinates), Anneke Schlueter (Oaklands Wolves).
