All-Star Five – Week 22

There were more seriously sparkling performances over the weekend as players continue to rack up some eye-bulging numbers heading into the season stretch.

Cat Carr (Sevenoaks Suns)
The reigning MVP showcased her class in a big way for Suns as they stormed to a one-sided road victory in Nottingham. Carr torched Wildcats with a near triple-double of 18 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists to preserve Suns’ flawless league record.

Ali Gorrell (Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters)
The versatile Hatters’ standout kept her team in the title race as they won on the road at Oaklands, with Gorrell torturing the hosts in an all-action display. She corralled a massive 32 points, while also completing a stunning double-double with 15 rebounds.

Jessy Ward (Essex Rebels)
It was a joyous winning feeling for Essex Rebels as they claimed a rare league success, with a vibrant home win against Caledonia Pride. Ward was at the heart of the victory as she showed out with a memorable 26 points, 9 assists, 7 boards and 3 steals.

Rebecca Navarro (Leicester Riders)
Riders continue to push hard in the title race and they had little difficulty in seeing off the visiting Manchester Mystics. Much of that was down to a superb contribution from the in-from Navarro, who harvested 24 points from a smart shooting-effort, as well as adding 9 boards.

Angel Waithe (Essex Rebels)
It proved to be a breathtaking two-punch for Rebels as the rookies claimed only their third ever league triumph. Waithe was too hot to handle for the Pride defence and weighed in with a spectacular 39 points and a stellar 7 rebounds, 7 steals and 3 assists.

Off the bench – Loren Christie (BA London Lions), Sarah Toeaina (Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters), Beth Sarson (Oaklands Wolves), Sian Phillips (Caledonia Pride), Kate Oliver (Leicester Riders), Rhianna Mae Laing (Durham Palatinates), Judit Fritz (Sevenoaks Suns).
