Cardiff Met Archers have retained the services of 5’11” forward Justine Ferland.
The Canadian will mark her third season with the Archers in 2019-20, having joined them back in 2017.
“I’m really looking forward to another year connecting as a team, both on and off the court, and putting in the work together,” said Ferland.
“I believe it’s our year to really come out hard and I can’t wait face so many great teams in the WBBL.”
Ferland said that her mindset heading into the new WBBL season was to fulfil any role she is given by Head Coach Stef Collins.
“I’m just going to get it done,” added Ferland.”That’s my mindset this year – to be a stronger player all the way around. As a team, I think finishing within the top 5 this year would be a huge achievement, and maintaining a healthy team that continues to grow stronger mentally and physically throughout the year would be a huge step to reaching that goal.”
Praising the growth of the WBBL, she continued, “I am so thankful for the opportunity the WBBL provides to Women’s Basketball in the UK. It’s literally keeping the game going for so many female players in Britain.
“The league continues to grow every year and I can’t wait to see how this year rolls out.”
Head Coach Stef Collins added, “We’re thrilled to have Justine with us for another season. As someone who spent a few years away from the game, seeing her develop over the past two seasons has been fun to watch. She has an amazing work ethic and is always ready for a battle on the boards.
“She’s a wonderful person to have involved in our programme – always supportive, caring, determined, and dedicated.”
