Lucrezia Costa will return to Essex Rebels for the 2021-22 season after an impressive debut season.
The Italian native recently graduated from the University of Essex with a Postgraduate degree in Conflict Resolution.
Costa dominated the WBBL in her debut season where she averaged a double-double in points and rebounds quickly establishing herself as one of the better post players in the league.
Costa averaged 13 points per game last season, finishing within the top five in the league leaders for Free Throws made, and amongst the league leaders for two points made.
She also secured a place in the top five WBBL league leaders for defensive and offensive rebounds, offering great versatility at both ends of the court.
“Costa had an impressive year last season, she was one of the most consistent players, averaging a double-double nearly every game,” said Tom Sadler, Head of Basketball Performance.
“I am really pleased that she has signed onto the Essex Rebels for her second season, she has a lot to offer both offensively and defensively. She is also continuing her studies at the University of Essex and we look forward to watching her thrive.”
