Eagles, Hatters and Wildcats win as title race continues to heat up

Newcastle Eagles, FLT Peterman Sheffield Hatters and Nottingham Wildcats all picked up points as the sides at the top of the table continue to jostle for position.

Newcastle joined Leicester Riders at the top of the standings having collected a tenth Championship victory. The 54-47 win, on the road, over a battling BA London Lions, was led by Georgia Ohrdorf’s game-high 19 points.

Elsewhere, Asha Thomas erupted for a wonderful 34 points to lift Sheffield to a thrilling 72-70 win over Manchester Mystics. The result sees the sides exchange places in the standings as the race for the title enters the final stretch.

Nottingham then produced a courageous display to triumph 70-62 over the visiting Cardiff Met Archers. Simone Costa was at the centre of the home team’s success with a game-high 27 points.
