Sevenoaks Suns closed out the fifth WBBL season in style with victory in the benecos Play-Off Final, led by 23 points from MVP Janice Monakana.
The star forward produced a game defining display: her game-high 23 points proved the difference between the two sides, as
Monakana’s output off the bench was 16 points more than the entire second unit of the Riders managed.
“It’s a special feeling – especially with all the ups and downs we’ve had as a team throughout the year,” reflected Monakana after the buzzer.
“It wasn’t an easy game and it makes it that more special.
“All year round has been good for me, I knew the Suns’ history and how they develop the programme so be able to add to that has been really nice.
“I’ve just kept trying to contribute for the team, the same as always and I had a lot of confidence.”
The Finals MVP shot 8/13 from the field and also added three rebounds, an assist and a steal.
