Cardiff Met Archers have announced two further signings as they welcome back guards Kim Kheing and Laura Shanahan for the 2021-22 season.
Shanahan returns for her seventh season with the Archers with Kheing signing for her fourth season with the club.
“I’m really happy to be back with the Archers for another season,” said Shanahan. “We were unfortunate with a series of injuries to key players last season so we weren’t able to fully reach our potential as a team.
“But having said that, this gave others the opportunity to step up and gain valuable experience in the league, which will only be good for us heading into this season.
“I’m excited to build on the momentum from last year and to see what we can accomplish in the league this year.”
Kheing added, “Even though last season was such a crazy season I felt I was still able to develop on and off of the court, I’m excited to get to work and ready to compete in this hopefully ‘normal’ season.”
Archers Head Coach Stef Collins also commented on the signings, citing the experience both players bring to the squad.
“It is fantastic to see Laura return for another season, she’s been a stalwart for the Archers, an experienced veteran who gives so much to the team,” said Collins. “Laura adds great value and contribution especially when she brings her attacking mindset and leadership.
“Kim, another stalwart for the Archers, is heading into her 4th season with the women’s programme, her fearless mentality is what makes Kim so special, she continues to work on her game and I know she will step up this season with her great fighting spirit.”
