Nottingham Wildcats are continuing to populate their exciting new structure after announcing that Kenrick Liburd has been appointed to the post of Lead Coach to the Perform Basketball Programme.
Liburd will have responsibility for the Perform programme at the Nottingham Wildcats Academy, as well as being the Head Coach of the WBBL franchise.
Offering previous WBBL experience from his time at Oaklands Wolves and Barking Abbey Crusaders, Liburd will take up his post when he returns from duties as Great Britain play-caller at the FIBA U16 Women’s European Championship.
Chris Prior, Chairperson of the Wildcats Trust, was delighted at the new appointment stating: “In what was a really competitive interview process, with a number of excellent candidates, we are delighted to have secured Kenrick’s services.
“We see Kenrick’s appointment and indeed the whole new structure, as being able to take us to the next level”.
Meanwhile Liburd added, “I am really excited and thankful to have the opportunity to be part of the Nottingham Wildcats programme.
“The programme have been a dominant force in the WBBL and I can’t wait to continue to build on the foundations that are present, while driving the academy programmes forward”.
Although Liburd does not officially start work until the end of August, he is already actively involved with both Prior and Michael Hanson-Morris in the recruitment of this coming season’s WBBL squad.
Player announcements will be made during the coming days and weeks.
