Munns returns to Essex for second season

Essex Rebels today announced the re-signing of talented, dynamic shooting guard Ashleigh Munns, who returns for a second season.

Munns quickly established herself as one of the league’s best shooters finishing sixth overall in three points made. The sharp shooting guard became a consistent scorer for the Rebels last year in the WBBL averaging around 12 points per game and helping the team secure a sixth place finish in just their third year in the WBBL.

“I am really happy to have Ashleigh back with us this year,” said Tom Sadler, Head of Basketball Performance at the University of Essex.

“She has become an integral part of what we do and what we are trying to accomplish, and brings great energy and a positive attitude and is a real leader both on and off the court.”

Munns added, “Essex is home for me – I feel like I’ve been there for years. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to re-sign with the Rebels. It’s a place that encourages you to be the best version of yourself from the moment you walk through the door.

“I’m looking forward to growing even further, not only as an individual, but as a team. We’re excited about making some more noise in the league this year.”
