Manchester Mystics and Sevenoaks Suns became the first two teams to record Championship points with victories on the opening day of the 2019-20 league season.
Manchester made light work of Cardiff Met Archers to take a home 83-61 victory, thanks to the production of Sam Roscoe. The forward scored an efficient 29 points and added seven rebounds.
Elsewhere, Sevenoaks came out on top with an impressive 83-64 win at home against Leicester Riders – in what could prove a crucial early victory against a tough title rival. The defending league champions were led by a game-high 23 points from Janice Monakana, alongside 20 points and 10 rebounds from Renee Busch and Ta’yani Clark’s six points, 13 rebounds and 13 assists.
