It’s a November awards double for Newcastle Eagles after their popular forward Georgia Ohrdorf was crowned Molten WBBL Player of the Month.
This follows on from play-caller Chris Bunten landing the coaching accolade and his major frontcourt presence was certainly a tower of strength behind his team’s unbeaten run during the period.
Ohrdorf was at the centre of their 4-0 record and she topped the WBBL efficiency chart during November after some excellent displays, with the Eagles winning three times on the road.
She accumulated an efficiency rating of almost 27 after producing a stunning shooting effort and netting 62% from the field. That was pivotal in returning 18.5 points per game and Ohrdorf also completed a double-double month with a superb 12.8 rebounds per outing.
The Eagles’ standout had to fend off a strong challenge from Jasmine Joyner of Nottingham Wildcats, who only just missed out on landing consecutive monthly awards after another sensational run of performances.
