Leicester Riders’ play-caller Krumesh Patel has been honoured again with his second Molten WBBL Coach of the Month award in three editions.
Having also won the coveted gong for his work during November, it is now his efforts during January which have served up another award.
Riders played more games than any other WBBL club during the period and also got more wins than anybody else.
A fruitful month opened with a crushing 87-68 home success against Oaklands Wolves, followed by a hard-fought 59-47 victory at Cardiff Met Archers.
The most eye-catching and challenging match-up came via an exciting clash with fellow title chasers Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters, as Patel masterminded a pulsating 74-72 victory.
Riders then wrapped up the month with two more home wins, beating BA London Lions 78-65 after a late surge and doing a January double against Archers by winning 74-55.
Coach Patel fought off strong competition from Jeff Jones of Manchester Mystics for the accolade, since the veteran play-caller also impressed after he went 4-0 during January, while Len Busch of Sevenoaks Suns was also unbeaten.
