Princess to debut in WBBL for Essex

Princess Adeogun will make her debut in the WBBL this season, joining Essex Rebels in what will be the club’s second season in the league.

Princess will continue to play basketball whilst studying for a master’s degree in Sport and Exercise Psychology at the University of Essex.

Having previously represented Ireland at U20 level, and also playing in the BUCS Premier League for Loughborough University and featuring in the Loughborough Riders WNBL Division 1 side, Princess is well placed to make the step up to the next level of basketball.

“I’m very excited for the opportunity to begin my first WBBL season with Essex Rebels,” said Princess. “I can’t wait to get on the court and get to work.

“I look forward to working with the coaching staff and my teammates to develop every aspect of my game. I can’t wait to meet my new team so we can work together on having a successful season.”

Tom Sadler, Head Coach, added, “I believe Princess will be a great addition to our program. I really like the energy and toughness that she plays with.

“Having watched some of her games last year in the Division 1 National League, and factoring in the national teams experience she had with Ireland as a junior, makes me confident that she will be able to carve out a nice role for herself here.”
