Essex Rebels have announced their latest signing in the form of British guard Olivia Partridge.
Olivia joins the Rebels from Sevenoaks Suns where she has played since 2017 and will study for her undergraduate degree in Sport and Exercise at the University of Essex combining both her education with her sporting ambitions.
Olivia was selected to compete for England at the U15 Women’s basketball tournament in Copenhagen and was then called up to the Great Britain U18 Women’s team in 2018.
She has also since been selected to represent her country this summer at the U18 European Championships.
“I’m really excited about joining Essex Rebels for their second season in the WBBL,” said Olivia.
“I can’t wait to develop my game and also learn from experienced coaching staff and teammates. I’m looking forward to meeting everyone and getting to work.”
Head Coach Tom Sadler added, “We are looking forward to working with Olivia as she begins her journey with us in the performance basketball programme. I think she’s someone who has a great attitude and will maximise the opportunities that are available here at Essex.
“Her attitude and commitment to her development is why we want her to be a part of the Rebels team. Not only was she a part of last season’s WBBL Champions, Sevenoaks Suns, she is also coming in from a busy summer of national team duty with Great Britain.”
