Riders go top, wins for Palatinates, Wolves and Eagles

It was a successful Saturday for Durham, Oaklands, Leicester and Newcastle.

Durham Palatinates maintained their grip on a top eight spot with a 76-59 victory on the road over Cardiff Met Archers, led by Harriet Ottewill-Soulsby’s big double-double. While Roya Rustamzada hit 30 points to power Oaklands Wolves to a 86-81 win over Manchester Mystics, at the National Basketball Performance Centre.

Leicester Riders moved clear at the top of the Championship standings with a 76-47 win at the expense of their hosts, Nottingham Wildcats, thanks to 21 points from Kate Oliver. Elsewhere, Georgia Ohrdorf netted 24 points to inspire Newcastle Eagles to a 77-58 victory over Essex Rebels to conclude the day’s schedule.
