Oakland Wolves 54-64 Leicester Riders (11-18, 26-29, 39-46, 54-64)
(Wolves – Rouse 12, Carter 10, Milligan 8; Riders – Winterburn 22, Hinriksdottir 15, Oliver 10)
The Leicester Riders solidify top spot in the WBBL Championship with a ten point victory over the Oakland Wolves, with Holly Winterburn scoring a game high 22.
Winterburn also added six rebounds, four assists and two steals in a dominant display, in a game where the Riders led from minute one.
Sara Hinriksdottir contributed 15 and captain Kate Oliver came close to a double-double with ten points and nine rebounds.
The game was tight heading into half time, with the Riders leading by a slender three points, but they took control in the second half, leading by as many as 18.
For the hosts, Amari Carter put up ten points, eight rebounds and six assists while Lauren Milligan also had a strong display with eight points, ten rebounds, three steals and two blocks.
It was a tough night for Oakland, who only shot 26% from the field on 75 shots, and defeat keeps them bottom of the Championship table.
Louise Rouse was the only other Wolves player to put up double digits on the night, and Coach Lee Ryan will be hoping the side can find some form soon to change their season around.
