Caledonia Pride have added American Guard Brooke Bailey to their roster for the 2019/20 WBBL season.
Brooke spent four years playing college basketball in Missouri with Truman State University Bulldogs, where she ended her college career as the 9th highest three-point shooter of all-time with 139 triples.
Bailey also holds the record for the most games played in a season too, featuring 31 times for the Bulldogs in a year – with 115 appearances in total making her the second highest capped Bulldog ever.
Further records include shooting 67% from beyond the arc (6 of 9) against Indianapolis in her Sophomore year to record the fifth best three-point % ever for a Bulldog. Before college, Brooke scored over 1,000 career points for Dixon High School as a four-year starter and all-conference player.
Pride play-caller Bart Sengers is delighted to have more flexibility in the team after Brooke’s arrival and commented: “Adding Brooke to this team is great. We needed more power at the point guard position and Brooke gives us that.
“I expect her to easily move to the 2 position as well, so she gives us some flexibility in the back court and scoring power on top of that. We are excited to figure out how we can fit all our players together into an effective team during the next few weeks.”
With less than a fortnight until Pride’s first game, Bailey herself was delighted to be in Edinburgh and ready to get started.
She added: “I’m very excited to arrive in Scotland and am looking forward to playing for Bart and for Pride.
“This is an amazing opportunity to continue my education and playing career that I plan to take full advantage of!”
Preparations for the new season are well underway in the Pride camp as the team are just two weeks away from the opening weekend of the WBBL in Essex.
