Success for Wildcats, Riders, Eagles, Hatters and Mystics on a busy Saturday

Nottingham Wildcats continued their fine run of form with a 75-90 win on the road against Cardiff Met Archers – the visitors’ fourth victory in a row. Jasmine Joyner led the way for Nottingham with a game-high 22 points to go along with seven rebounds and five assists.

Leicester Riders also enjoyed success with a commanding 75-98 road victory over Essex Rebels. The visitors extended their winning streak to three games, thanks to a team-high 21 points from Brea Elmore and 19 points each from Dee Hayward and Holly Winterburn.

After almost a month since their last Championship fixture, Newcastle Eagles returned to league action at Sport Central with a 68-51 win at the expense of Oaklands Wolves. Kalina Axetievas poured in a game-high 22 points and Georgia Ohrdorf added 19 points for the hosts.

Elsewhere, Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters left it late to snatch a dramatic 77-82 win on the road against BA London Lions – the visitors producing an incredible 11-0 run to close out the game. Alison Gorrell shone for Sheffield with 27 points and 12 rebounds.

Finally, Manchester Mystics kept their title challenge on track with an emphatic 59-76 triumph over Caledonia Pride in Dunfermline. Evelyn Ovner top scored for the guests with 17 points and added nine rebounds.
