Suns, Eagles and Hatters pick up Championship points

Sevenoaks Suns, Newcastle Eagles and FLT Peterman Sheffield Hatters all picked up valuable Championship points in the race for the 2019-2020 title.

Sevenoaks were the first team to strike thanks to an 89-69 win over Oaklands Wolves. Renee Busch and Cat Carr led the charge for the home team with 20 points each.

Sheffield then went some way to putting yesterday’s Cup Semi-Final defeat to Durham Palatinates behind them by collecting a 78-72 win over the same opposition, in what proved to be another tight contest. Sarah Cooney and Luiana Livulo shared the scoring load with 18 points each.

Newcastle ensured they maintained pace with last year’s Championship winners, running out 72-47 winners against the visiting Caledonia Pride. Anja Fuchs-Robetin impressed with a game-high 18 points.
