WBBL Opening Weekend tickets now available

Tickets for a thrilling opening weekend to the sixth season of the Women’s British Basketball League are now available.

Every WBBL club will take to the floor at the University of Essex across three days, Friday 27 – Sunday 29 Sept, in what promises to be a fantastic and must-see event for fans.

Across the three days, all 12 games of the WBBL Trophy Group Stages will take place with four fabulous games taking place on each day.

Tipping off the action will be BA London Lions taking on Nottingham Wildcats on Friday at 1pm, and closing the weekend festivities will be Sheffield Hatters against Essex Rebels.

The full WBBL opening weekend schedule is as follows:

Friday 27 September
1:00pm – BA London Lions v Nottingham Wildcats
3:00pm – Oaklands Wolves v Leicester Riders
5:00pm – Essex Rebels v Durham Palatinates
7:00pm – Sevenoaks Suns v Caledonia Pride

Saturday 28 September
12:00pm – Durham Palatinates v Sheffield Hatters
3:00pm – Caledonia Pride v Newcastle Eagles
5:00pm – Nottingham Wildcats v Manchester Mystics
7:00pm – Leicester Riders v Cardiff Met Archers

Sunday 29 September
12:00pm – Newcastle Eagles v Sevenoaks Suns (no parking available)
2:00pm – Cardiff Met Archers v Oaklands Wolves (no parking available)
4:00pm – Manchester Mystics v BA London Lions
6:00pm – Sheffield Hatters v Essex Rebels

As well as being able to watch some fast paced, end-to-end, action packed games of basketball, a whole host of other activities, performances and competitions for all ages will also be available, including:

  • Music and Commentating from our Live in-house DJ
  • The Essex Flames Cheerleaders
  • Half-time competitions and guest performances!
  • Comedy skits with the Essex Rebels Mascot

There will also be a new Kids Zone, which features a Soft Play area, miniature basketball hoops and an Arts and Crafts station, all within sight of the court. There’ll also be a special game day booklet filled with fun activities as well as a page to collect player signatures. Face painting and free fruit will also be available for children.

Refreshments will be available from the courtside bar and Timeout café, where you can grab some food, snacks and drinks at any time during the evening.

All match day parking is FREE with a close proximity to the Sports Arena, however there will be no parking available for the first two games on Sunday but there will be parking available for the final two games later that day.
