Wildcats and Suns remain unbeaten as Riders and Eagles claim wins

Nottingham Wildcats, Sevenoaks Suns, Leicester Riders and Newcastle Eagles all picked up victories on a busy Sunday of Championship action.

Nottingham continued their fine form to start the season with a third consecutive victory. The away team overcame Cardiff Met Archers 67-45 thanks to Jasmine Joyner’s 20 points, 15 rebounds and four blocks.

The reigning league champions also maintained their perfect record with a comfortable 65-47 win over BA London Lions. The Suns were led by Ta’Yani Clark and her double-double of 16 points, 11 rebounds and five steals.

Leicester overcame Durham Palatinates 79-76 to hand the side from the North East their first defeat of the season. Sara Hinriksdottir’s game-high 18 points and Kate Oliver’s 15 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists proved pivotal.  

Finally, Newcastle picked up their first points of the new league campaign with a 90-80 win over Essex Rebels. Lisa Koop dominated the paint for the Eagles with 28 points and 15 rebounds.
